Bento #137 The Grasshopper Playing Fiddle Bento

This is the bento I've prepared recently and sent for contest " The 2013 International Bento Contest, Pasta Bento" organized by Bento & Co....and I got no chance to get into the 20 finalist :(... anyway, it is another good experience for myself, and sure I'll take part for next year contest!! Gambateh!!

I've got this idea from the story of " The Grasshopper And The Ants", and I tried to make the bento showing that the grasshopper continued playing his fiddle and dancing in the moonlight in my main food container (unfortunately, I've forgot the scroll for the violin, ) ,  while the side dish showing the foods that are collected by the ants before winter is coming.

main dish: white sauce spaghetti tossed in some dried dill, different colours of egg sheet, cooked ham, cheese, nori, sweet pea leaves and some green leaf...
side dish: fried breadcrumbs prawns, tamagoyaki, pickled gherkins, strawberries, blueberries, orange, cucumber and some green leaf...

Bento #135 Ducklings Deco Sushi Roll Bento

This is my first presentable kazari maki-sushi, twin ducklings...

I mixed in some egg yolk in the sushi roll. The rice is sticky, I think I should reduce the water next time :P.......details on the ducklings were nori, cheese, coloured boiled egg, crabstick and carrot......and tomatoes were added in too :)
